Wall by John Frankland is Art House Foundation’s first commission. A wall in the upstairs gallery needed resurfacing following the removal of the previous show. We approached John to plaster it for us.

The viewer is presented with a white wall, its identity revealed by the slight physical separation from the rest of the room in the form of a gap around all four edges and also its emptiness. It is the only wall in the house to have nothing on it at all.

A 4 min 10 second time lapse film, by Chris Dorley-Brown, of the 4 hour process of plastering was shown on a loop with a soundtrack of all the songs on John’s ipod of corresponding length.
